Beach Day - In Paper
July 2025 Release from Concord & 9th
The Beach Day bundle caught my eye in the new Concord & 9th release, but that may be because I was just on vacation to the beach. Beyond that bias, there’s a lot of fun with the umbrella shapes and the cute little seagulls, so that’s where I started when I got my box.

Techniques:
I wanted to start with the seagulls, but this card took a different direction than I had planned when I noticed the pattern of the bracelets in the Charmed die set. The wavy shapes and pattern the links create reminded me of the water and waves of the water.
After choosing three blue-green colors, I embossed (instead of fully cutting) with the Charmed bracelet die across a section of each color.
I cut along a curvy edge of the two lighter colors, but cut a straight edge for the horizon across the darkest. I made sure that the curves and patterns weren’t directly lined up, so they looked more natural.
A trio of yellow items balances out those cool blues: The sun, the details on the gulls, and the umbrella sections. I also included a little bit of yellow splatter (from some new stamps in the releae) around the sun.
Colors:
cardstock: Concord & 9th Buttercup, Sunflower, Aqua Sky, Tidepool, Lakefront, Mushroom, White.
ink: Concord & 9th Buttercup, Dove.
