Beach Day - In Paper

July 2025 Release from Concord & 9th

The Beach Day bundle caught my eye in the new Concord & 9th release, but that may be because I was just on vacation to the beach. Beyond that bias, there’s a lot of fun with the umbrella shapes and the cute little seagulls, so that’s where I started when I got my box.

To see the whole new release, take a look at this link here.

Techniques:

  • I wanted to start with the seagulls, but this card took a different direction than I had planned when I noticed the pattern of the bracelets in the Charmed die set. The wavy shapes and pattern the links create reminded me of the water and waves of the water.

  • After choosing three blue-green colors, I embossed (instead of fully cutting) with the Charmed bracelet die across a section of each color.

  • I cut along a curvy edge of the two lighter colors, but cut a straight edge for the horizon across the darkest. I made sure that the curves and patterns weren’t directly lined up, so they looked more natural.

  • A trio of yellow items balances out those cool blues: The sun, the details on the gulls, and the umbrella sections. I also included a little bit of yellow splatter (from some new stamps in the releae) around the sun.

Colors:

  • cardstock: Concord & 9th Buttercup, Sunflower, Aqua Sky, Tidepool, Lakefront, Mushroom, White.

  • ink: Concord & 9th Buttercup, Dove.

Thank you for visiting! I’ll be sharing more of this release and these products over the next few weeks.

I hope you get some time to create something soon, also.
