Sweet Spring Shaker Card
More cards, from Simon Says Stamp’s YOU ARE MY FAVORITE release! This release includes a lot of fun for spring, Mother’s Day, and even some great geometric products.
This card shows off the sweet Flower Breeze die.
Approach:
I thought these cute little flowers in the die would make a fun shaker card.
Techniques:
Starting with the warm and bright yellow, I die cut the A2 panel with the Flower Breeze die.
I stamped the sentiment in black, and clear embossed it for a little touch of shine.
After I’d die cut and stamped the front of the panel, I flipped it over and glued on a layer of acetate to the backside. (To keep the shaker bits in.)
Next, I created my shaker shape on that back side with foam tape. I added sequins from two embellishment mixes to get the colors I wanted. (See product listing below for those.)
I carefully peeled off the release tape on the foam adhesive and added my folded card, with the ink blended side facing the shaker bits.
Once the card was assembled I added the little butterfly, which I’d stamped and colored with alcohol markers, with a foam dot behind it for some dimension.
I added a few embellishments from the sequin mixes I used in the shaker, and also a few of the piece from the floral breeze die cut. These add to the flow and interest of the card.
Colors:
cardstock: Concord & 9th Sunflower.
ink: Concord & 9th Sweet Pea, Grapefruit, Buttercup (ink blended on the panel behind the shaker opening). Versafine Onyx Black.
