A New Honey Bee Release

with Honey Bee Stamps

There’s a brand new release from Honey Bee Stamps ! Style in Bloom includes some spring themes, gifting and packaging ideas, and a new fun style addition.

This little bee stamp is so adorable that I started out with it for my first card. Seems fitting, for Honey Bee Stamps!

Tips & Techniques:

I knew the Honeycomb Honey Cuts die would make a fun shaker. I cut the die out of a lighter shade of yellow than I used for the card panel, to help it stand out.

  • TIP: If you have a thin frame on something you want to create a shaker with, cut that frame out, but also cut it out of your card front where you want it positioned.

    • Attach acetate to the back of that card front panel with the opening cut out.

    • Glue thin frame to the front of the acetate (stack with layers if you like - I used 4 layers on this).

    • Flip back to the backside of the panel with the acetate, and build up your foam (or preferred) frame for the shaker there.

    • Fill with shaker bits, and add backer panel. (Keep in mind that it will show through your shaker.)

  • I used some of the hexagon shapes from cutting the honeycomb to add subtle dimension/pattern to my background.

    • TIP: If you want to continue a pattern like this, an easy way to get alignment and spacing right is to use extra shapes from the die cut to build out the pattern from the die. Then just glue down the ones you want to stay, and remove the others.

  • Adding the sentiment and one bee with white backgrounds adds contrast and helps with flow.

  • For extra fun, I added the white bee to a spinner (see supply list) so this card shakes and spins! You can see the video on my Instagram post.

Colors:

cardstock - Concord & 9th Buttercup and Sunflower. Neenah White.
