STAMPtember is Here!
Happy STAMPtember!!! Simon Says Stamp always celebrates fall (and Heidi’s birthday) with a big release celebration in September. As always, this year’s STAMPtember release includes some wonderful new basics, and some fun products to cover the other seasons coming this year.

Here’s a quick glance at some of my cards, but know there are more coming! I worked on four more fun ones today that will be added here soon.

Techniques:
The Peace Joy Love cover die is an easy inlay. I used the whole card panel, but only filled in the inlay pieces on the right side of each letter. This allowed the base layer to show through on the left side of each, and adds some depth to the letters.
I wanted to keep the cover panel white to allow my colors to pop against it, but wanted it to be less plain, so I stamped it with a background stamp and clear embossed that. This added both texture and pattern, as well as the contrast of some shine against the otherwise matte card front.
A greeting from the Christmas Joy stamp set was a perfect fit to pop up on foam tape to finish off the card. I stamped it in the same color as the background that shows through in the letter forms.
This snowflake inlay die has a stained glass look, and I thought it would be great for a shaker card.
Techniques:
I used the die to cut some light blue cardstock, and then ink blended on certain pieces to create a range of blues in the inlay pieces. This allowed me to get the pieces in four different colors without having to die cut from each color.
I left some of the pieces out to see through, and selected some to glue in place on an acetate piece. I used this as the front of a shaker card.
The shaker bits are the new Caramel Corn Embellishments.
The Stained Glass Snowflake die is gorgeous, and there are coordinating stencils that make it even better as I showed in the previous card.
But what if…
I just use that die as a background element? I cut it out of colored cardstock and trimmed off the frame to leave only the snowflake shape. I made two and glued them to a background of the same color. It created a perfect background for the stamped and die cut ornaments -!: sentiment.
