Paper Pasta

I recently got a chance to use a fun new bundle from Spellbinders and made these cute pasta cards! Who knew that pasta could be so cute when made out of paper, but Spellbinders has a way of coming up with some creative and out of the box subjects for their products.

This product line includes a spectacular 3D embossing folder, a couple of die sets for pasta and some of the veggies that go with, as well as a clear stamp set full of great sentiments.

pasta shapes - three ways

Techniques:

  • I didn’t do anything unusual with these cards. I got a chance to use the dies, so I started by die cutting a bunch of the pasta, a few embossed panels, and then decided how I wanted to use them.

  • One card had to be the pasta shapes on a deep red background - to mimic the idea of pasta and meatballs in marinara sauce.

  • I also knew that one card I’d do a lineup of some of the iconic pasta shapes, and by cutting some black cardstock strips into squares, I created a classic pattern reminiscent of tile or tablecloth.

  • The third card is probably my favorite. Giving the cute pasta arms and legs gives them so much more personality, and that was very fun to put together.

Thank you for visiting! I hope you get some time to create something soon.
